To exploit one of the tenets of FOSS, a users freedom of choice, i exercise this right by using several Desktop Environments and Window Managers with the same or different Distros, for what they have to offer and or do best within a given criteria.

About Edubuntu
This article is based on my Edubuntu Workstation.
This was initially Edubuntu based on Ubuntu Breezy with added DEs and WMs Kubuntu, Fluxbox, Xfce, and E17.

Summary:
The contents from the automounts were able to be displayed with konqueror file manager from the pop up window/tab, if in Kubuntu, with Nautilus in Gnome, Enlightenment, or Fluxbox. If the automount process did not give any notification while using XFCe, Fluxbox, or E17, i just typed 'gnome-volume-manager' to kick start the process.
The only thing i was not able to test is a printer. The only printer i have is a Alps MD2010 which only have drivers available for windows 98.

Right about now i'm really enjoying Edubuntu 6.06 LTS, i switch between Desktop Environments/Desktop Managers Edubuntu/Gnome for its speed and smooth appearance, Edubuntu/Kubuntu for it's speed, configurable, and eye candy, Edubuntu/Enlightenment 17 for it's speed, eye candy, and it's way of doing things, Edubuntu/Fluxbox for it's speed, beautiful themes, low resource usage, and its different conceptual approach to the desktop.
Just gotta get that schooltool to work, learn to use moodle more thoroughly, eventually get to test the education programs, and other programs like Gnucash, Scribus, Inkspace, etc...
